TUTORIALS
Tip: Choral divide arrows
- Dorico adds divide arrows to choral staves at a divisi automatically.
- Complimentary arrows are also added when restoring unisons.
- This behaviour can be controlled via an Engraving Option, on the Divisi page.
Tip: Select an item positioned behind other items
- When music items are positioned very close together, it can be difficult to select the desired item because the objects overlap.
- Simply hold Shift+Alt when clicking to select the item behind.
- This can be useful when working with signposts.
Tip: Remove unwanted rests from multi-voice music
- Select one or more rests — or even just make a selection that includes the rests you want to remove.
- Choose Edit > Remove Rests.
Tip: Move an instrument to a different player
- Switch to Setup mode.
- Disclose the player card that contains the instrument you wish to move by clicking on its arrow.
- Drag the instrument to the new player card. The card does not need to be disclosed.
- Dorico combines the music for both instruments onto one staff automatically, including handling the correct labelling for instrument changes.
Tip: Use different noteheads in your music
- Choose a different notehead design for your project by opening Engraving Options and setting the first option on the Notes page.
- Or change just the noteheads of specific notes by selecting them, right-clicking and choosing a set from the Noteheads menu.
