Tip: How to add a dynamic in the middle of a tied note

  1. Usually adding a dynamic (while not in Note Input) is as simple as selecting a note at the point you would like the dynamic and choosing it from the dynamics panel, or using the Shift+D popover.
  2. However, when the position you need the dynamic to be input is midway through a tied note, there may not be a suitable item to select.
  3. Instead, enter Note Input so the caret is showing and advance the caret to the desired position.
  4. Now you can enter your dynamic and it will appear at the caret position.

Tip: Use chord mode to merge music when pasting

  1. Make a selection and choose Edit > Copy or press Ctrl/Cmd+C.
  2. Engage Chord mode by clicking the button in the toolbox or using the key command Q.
  3. Make a selection at the point where you would like to paste your copied music.
  4. Choose Edit > Paste or use the key command Ctrl/Cmd+V.
  5. The pasted music will not overwrite any existing music, but rather merge it into the same voice.
  6. There are also Paste special commands for pasting into new voices.
