What are the summer sessions?

This summer why not take a deep dive into the free notation software, Dorico SE, with this series of live streams covering many useful topics for your musical needs.

When is it?

The series will run for five sessions on Wednesdays from 10th June until 15th July at 4pm UK time (8am LA, 11am NY, 5pm CEST). They will then remain on YouTube in case you miss a session or want to review the lesson, but please join live to get the most out of each topic, and get your questions answered live.

How do you join?

Click on the link for each YouTube session below, and then click on the bell icon under the video and choose Subscribe so that you don’t miss future sessions.  The sessions will also run at the same time in German.

Join us live for this session on making a lead sheet in Dorico SE.  We’ll cover note input, chord symbols and diagrams, lyrics, repeat structures, slash notation and more!

2. Easy Band Arrangements

Wednesday 17th June 2026
4pm UK (5pm CEST, 8am LA, 11am NY)

Continuing with the lead sheet from the previous week, we’ll expand it to make a band arrangement, adding more instruments such as drums, bass, guitar, keys and horns, as well as playback and exporting an audio version for your band to listen to along with their parts.

If you’ve got a MIDI file that you’ve exported from another program, or you’ve downloaded, how do you turn that into useful notation for your ensemble or band?  In this last session we’ll work through the process from end to end, and answer any questions you have about the process.
